The Iowa Hawks All Star Rugby program is made up of IAYRA High School players that have been selected to represent their State at the All Star level. The players involved in the program will have the opportunity to work with some of the best coaches in Iowa as well as challenge themselves amongst their peers and against other All Star caliber players from other States around the US.
With the All Star season being relatively short, the players selected will need to bond and create a team culture very quickly. Creating the culture off the field will go a long way to being successful as a rugby unit on the field.
The coaches are looking for the best players to represent the Iowa Youth Rugby Association ON and OFF the field. If selected, you have the honor of representing the IAYRA, your family, friends, and High School. With this being an All Star program, we will be looking for you to be a good role model and most importantly, a team player. Other qualities we are looking for in our players are:
The coaches will be attending High School matches and tracking players throughout the season. We will also be asking our local High School coaches to put forward players' names who they think have the ability to play at an All Star level.
